How You Can Learn How to Sing Harmony
One of the reasons that most recording songs sound so rich and appealing is because of the harmonies they feature. The sound of two voices blending together can be far more attractive than a single voice on its own. However, it can be a challenge to learn how to sing harmony.
Don’t Try Singing Harmony Alone
If you’d like to develop this skill, you should try to find someone to practice with. It can be a big challenge to learn how to harmonize when you’re working on your own. However, if you don’t have this option, there are still other routes you can pursue.
A lot of people find that they have a great deal of success when they practice alongside a recording with vocals. You can find a lot of tracks on the internet that have the backing vocals removed, and you can fill in the blanks.
What Do You Sound Like?
It’s a good idea to record yourself while you try to harmonize so that you can play stuff back and see how it sounds. Sometimes, it may sound like you’re harmonizing properly in the moment, but your vocals may not wind up sounding like you wanted them to when you play them back again.
It’s also a smart idea to cover one of your ears while you try to harmonize. That way, it will be easier for you to hear what you sound like to other people. What you sound like in your head isn’t always what the outside world hears.
If so, the best thing you can do for yourself is practice. Put in the effort, and you’ll almost certainly get results. By the way, singing harmony is just one vocal tip. There are tons more when you subscribe to my free singing tips newsletter.
