Look up Antti Boman and his band. There’s a nice demonstration on vocal fry in death metal.
It won’t hurt your voice? I heard it does. I like singing Nirvana and Metallica. All raspy and stuff
No, he’s just too cool to open his eyes wide and look like he cares. :p
Press 2 7 and 8
That was very quick and very useful . Thank you 🙂
Yep…He’s a pothead! =)
This is vocal fry, in the same way as what my grandma does is normal singing -_- If you’re actually looking for a good way to use vocal fry and to hear people using it properly, listen to Kargyraa. I recommend Alex Genfield’s performances for new listeners.
I think it’s just because of the microphone, lol
if I hear that noise on a CD I’m breaking it
this video is disturbing
Sounds like noises and music from a horror film.
Jesus Horatio christ headphones… deaf…
Vocal fry at 0:17
my voice teacher says you should not vocal fry….maybe because she is classically trained but apparently it is bad for the voice.
Actually it is not bad if you do it properly. Because it is natural as you yawn. Most of singers use it for years without getting hurt
Is this Jack Nicholson?
Seriously??!? This is a “professional”? What a load of crap.
Well… they’re still right. Everybody can transition into vocal fry from their lower notes, but that’s not really singing. You can even hear the gap in pitch between the deepest sung note and the highest (percieved) fry note. With people who can actually sing that deep it will eventually turn into nothing but a rattle due to it’s low frequency, but you’re like an octave away from that point.
This shouldn’t be done with the throat and the vocal cord but with the back of the palate were the soft tissue is.
Does vocal fry count as a part of your range?
